Journal Sample: I arrived in Los Angeles today and I'm getting settled back into my bedroom at Uncle Mitch's. Miguel should be moving in shortly. I'm really glad Mitch decided to let him stay with us. It'll be nice to have a friend nearby. I do need to brush up on my Spanish, though. I feel like three years of high school Spanish hasn't really prepared me to communicate. It's difficult to hold long conversations with Miguel, but we manage, somehow!
School will be starting in the next few weeks. I'm glad to have a little break to get settled in before I have to start. I don't know if I could have handled so many transitions so quickly! I'm excited to see what my courses are like. And if I'll like my professors. I'm taking fifteen credits, so it shouldn't be too bad. If it isn't too much, I'll try looking into joining a soccer club, or maybe even getting a job.

Dear Diary
Oct. 12th, 2009 02:19 amLos Angeles has turned out to be rather interesting. Sandy has worked a lot more than she anticipated. As such, I'm off wandering mostly on my own. I've met a few interesting characters. I can't believe I actually went out to lunch with them.
I'm glad daddy got me this blackberry to keep in touch, but it's rather difficult to type on. I guess I'll save the rest of what I have to say for when I have a computer in front of me.
See you all later!

PS: I can't believe I'll be starting school shortly. It seems so weird that I'm going to be living in San Diego. I won't even have a decent winter. At least I can play soccer outside, though. There's just something about fresh air and green grass that makes me feel whole.
